Flora Cleveland Davis
My mother's guitar (a 1930's model Melody King) that she taught me to play guitar early in my life. Mom went to be
with the Lord November 2004. What a treasure for me to have and to be able to preserve this very sentimental instrument.
I proudly display this guitar along with my collection of guitars.
Also included in case was her favorite song
book she used that had numerous songs she enjoyed hearing played and sung as well as singing them herself.
In the left top conner is an old 78 phonograph record of Jimmy Rodgers singing
"Mother, The Queen Of My Heart" Recorded at RCA Victor, Camden, NJ Song written by Hoyt Byant and Jimmy Rodgers
(the father of country music)
Collectors tell me to hold on to this item due to it's value. Given to
me by Sonda's mom and dad, Billy & Sally Green.
THE FIRST SONG I WROTE IN 1980 WAS WRITTEN USING THIS FENDER GUITAR. I STILL PICK IT
UP NOW AND THEN AND SING, "JESUS IS MY PILOT" THIS SONG IS ON THE "GOD IS ONLY A PRAYER AWAY" CD PROJECT.
